About The Therapist

Hello!

I’m Chanel Treadwell, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. I’m a West Coast girl through and through, born and raised in Seattle, and now loving life here in sunny Southern California. My heritage is a blend of cultures and traditions from Lebanon, Egypt, Spain, and Mexico, and I’m so proud to come from a family of immigrants who’ve shaped my perspective on connection, compassion, and resilience.

My journey in mental health began during undergrad, when I did intern counselor work in early intervention settings, focused on emotional development and family support. I had the privilege of supporting children ages 0 to 5 and their families in real time, which opened my eyes to how early experiences shape who we become. After moving to California for graduate school at Loma Linda University, I gained incredible experience working across multiple school districts as both an intern and lead school counselor. I was lucky to be mentored by amazing professionals who helped me find my confidence and voice in this field.

After graduation, I continued to grow as a clinician, program coordinator, and later as a clinical director, where I supported and trained the next generation of therapists. As my priorities and vision evolved, I knew I wanted to create something more personal and peaceful — a space where therapy could feel genuine, warm, and deeply human. That’s how Serenity in Bloom Therapy was born. The name reflects the calm, balance, and natural growth I hope every client can experience, both in therapy and in life.

Outside of sessions, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, catching up with friends, or recharging in spiritual spaces that keep me grounded. I love good food, good company, and discovering new restaurants wherever I go. I make time to travel, rest, and soak in new experiences, and I try to carry that same sense of curiosity and openness into my work with clients.

I’ve now been in this field for seven years, and my passion for helping others has only deepened. My recent passions have focused on supporting clients with cultural identities and experiences similar to my own, which inspired me to create MENAwell, a community connecting Middle Eastern and North African individuals with mental health resources and professionals who understand their experiences. (MENAwell will be fully launching in early 2026 - check back soon, or connect with me for more information!)

It’s always an honor to walk alongside you as you explore your story, grow through challenges, and find serenity in your mental health journey. Looking forward to meeting you!

Thank you for being here,

Chanel
